From this lesson on, almost every lesson is going to have a vocabulary sheet attached to it, as well as a separate document with study recommendations.

How the Vocabulary Sheet is Structured

  1. For each word, the part you emphasize when speaking (called “the stress”) is bolded.
For example: Compare מַתָנָה  to מַתָָנָה.

  2. The words are divided by category for ease of use – Nouns, Verbs, etc. Which groupings are shown changes from lesson to lesson based on the needs of that lesson.

  3. The “Notes” section provides different kinds of useful information – Some of it important as far as how the word is used, and some of it is optional. Optional parts are [marked in green within square brackets].

  4. Greyed out sections can be ignored for now, but will become relevant in the future. Feel free to skip them (and notes referencing them) until we talk about them properly.

  5. For gender, M refers to Masculine words, and F refers to Feminine words. These will be relevant when we talk about gender in Hebrew.

I highly recommend that you go through the
Recommended Vocabulary Learning Techniques document (previous page) for tips on how to study.
